SapientNitro Powers Clas Ohlson'۪s New۬ e-Commerce Website


 Re-launched online store makes purchasing products for solving everyday problems easier for customers.


STOCKHOLM, May 8, 2012 – SapientNitro, part of Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE), today announced the re-launch of venerable Swedish retailer Clas Ohlson’s online store where customers can shop and have products that solve everyday problems delivered to their homes.  The new online store is available immediately for shoppers in Sweden at and Norway at e-Commerce functionality will be rolled out to customers in Finland and the UK this summer. 


SapientNitro began its partnership with Clas Ohlson two years ago with the goal of developing a multi-channel retail strategy to better serve Clas Ohlson customers and position the 94 year-old company competitively for the future. The vision is to better integrate the retailer’s sales channels and provide a seamless, consistent customer experience, regardless of shopping at the physical store, online, in social media, via search, telephone or catalog. As a result, customers can shop when, where and how they desire, and receive the same high standards they have come to expect from Clas Ohlson.


A key component of the multi-phased strategy is the launch a new platform for e-Commerce. Now, customers can easily get answers to their questions, view detailed product specifications and images, find “do it yourself” tips, choose from various payment and delivery options and purchase spare parts. 


“Over the past two years, more than 100 people have been engaged in the project which, in addition to a new technical platform, also involved developing other peripheral systems, strengthening the organization and adopting new business processes,” said Catrin Folkesson, e-commerce Manager at Clas Ohlson.  “The aim is to offer our customers a superior, practical and user-friendly site that makes it easy to shop and that contains a wealth of useful information and inspiration. It will also function as an excellent tool for those intending to prepare their purchases on the Internet prior to shopping in-store or over the telephone.” 


SapientNitro and Clas Ohlson have built the e-commerce solution with the help of the Hybris multi-channel commerce suite, the search engine Endeca and through third-party solutions from BazaarVoice, Vergic, Auriga, Klarna, the Swedish Post, Bring, Keybroker, Google Analytics, BizTalk and AppFabric.
