SapientNitro and Activision Create a Magic Moment in New Online Video Game LaunchLOS ANGELES – November 21, 2011SapientNitro, part of Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE), and Activision has launched an online home for Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, a new type of multi-modal, cross-platform game experience: one that blurs the lines between offline and interactive play.

Imagine if action figure toys could come to life in a video game yet still exist in the physical world. Meet the Skylanders, all 30 of them, with unique powers and personalities. Cast out from Skylands, they’ve been banished to earth by the sinister portal master Kaos. On earth they appear frozen, but place them on the Portal of Power and watch them come to life in this first ever cross-platform video game experience.

Mixing physical and digital play, Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure is a boundless multi-modal, cross-platform game, powered by RFID technology. Each physical character contains both a memory and an RFID chip, which allows each character to move seamlessly from game platform to game platform, while remembering all of its in-game adventures and experiences.

As Activision’s digital partner, SapientNitro was tapped with creating an online home for Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure. The result? An experience that captures, expresses and engages consumers in the nature of the game concept and the power of its virtual and physical play, introducing its 30+ characters and more. It starts with that magical moment when a kid realizes that their toys can come to life, simply by placing them on the Portal of Power and transporting the character into the game.
