Sapient's testing services enables progressive functional testing to be executed with automated test cases. Once can create automated test cases for functional testing of any form-based application, whether client/server or web-based, which is still under development. Testers use the wireframes and use-cases to create these automated test cases using Scimitar's visual test authoring tool.

Our testers use Scimitar's visual test authoring tool (a web interface based on Web 2.0/AJAX technology) to create these automated test cases. Thus we enable every tester on the team to create automated test cases, versus the traditional approach where one needs resources with specialized scripting skills like VBScript for HP's QTP.

Scimitar provides plug-ins for industry standard tools, which are used to execute the test cases (captured using Scimitar’s visual test authoring tool). One can run these automated test cases on any of these automation test tools by the Scimitar plug-in for that specific automated tool, thus enabling businesses to switch from one automation test tool vendor to another with little or no rework.
