He has over 13 years of experience in successfully leading large teams to design and implement complex business-critical software solutions in the finance, insurance, automotive, and healthcare industries. Manish is currently working with business experts in the financial domain to create innovative applications that harness the power of the rich UI platform provided by WPF and Silverlight. In his spare time, Manish works with some disability related NGOs like the national association for the Blind and the Center for Internet in Society. He recently conducted several workshops to train web developers on - both the need for and the techniques of- making internet web sites more accessible for the differently-abled. He has more than 13 years of experience in designing and developing complex business critical applications in the finance and desktop publishing domains, primarily using C++ / VC++ technologies. Presently he is a part of the Technology Capability team at Sapient Global Markets and is leading the initiative of building a perspective on Metro Style Application development on Windows 8. He is also leading the technology community development initiative. Vibhor has a strong hold on the Trading and Risk Management domain, specifically in the areas of trade life cycle management and handling of OTC (Over the Counter) trades and regularly conducts knowledge-sharing sessions on these topics.

Manoj is a Senior Microsoft Technology Specialist at Sapient Global Markets, a division of Sapient. He has over 12 years of software architecture design, application integration and development experience in finance, insurance and retail domains. He is adept in Microsoft technologies like .NET x.x, SharePoint and various enterprise, integration application patterns and ORM frameworks; and is an expert in designing and developing SOA oriented, component oriented web and thick client applications. In his current assignment Manoj is providing technical leadership and expertise to a globally distributed team for designing and developing a complex equity trading platform using WPF technology. Manoj is an avid speaker on various design principles and implementation details of Microsoft .NET framework features; and regularly conducts sessions around designing loosely coupled applications, multi-threading, debugging complex production issues using Microsoft debugging tools for Windows.

Windows 8 is the next version of Microsoft Windows. It has been “re-imagined” right from the chipset to the user experience. It features a new user interface inspired by Microsoft’s Modern Design language that supports multiple input methods including touch based input for touch screens and tablets as well as button based inputs via keyboard and mouse for PCs, all aimed at providing a fast, fluid and rich user experience.
While Windows 8 retains the Desktop familiarity, it is designed to support more mobile form factors. It has a new application model that allows creation of interactive, live, fast and fluid apps. Apps can work together and can seamlessly exchange information creating a powerful user experience. All this makes it easier for businesses to create their own line of business applications to help enhance productivity.

Building Modular Web Applications Using Backbone.js and RequireJS
Developing web applications using JavaScript was more like the Wild West just a
few years ago – unruly developers writing complex DOM spaghetti in a single file
containing 5000 lines of code. The landscape is changing now. JavaScript developers
are starting to utilize patterns and best practices traditionally used only on mature
technology platforms such as Java and .NET.
In this session, we talk about two popular JavaScript libraries that allow us to
build robust JavaScript applications – Backbone.js, which enables the use of the
Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern and RequireJS, which allows us to break up a
large JavaScript application into smaller manageable modules.
