SapientNitro Hires Michael Shostak to Bolster Strategy Practice

BOSTON and TORONTO—MAY 12, 2011SapientNitroSM, part of Sapient Corp. (NASDAQ: SAPE), today announced that Michael Shostak has joined as vice president of client service and strategy, based in Toronto. Shostak will lead the strategy practice for Central North America, including Canada and the American Midwest, and also oversee account management for several of SapientNitro’s global clients.

His wealth of experience leading multi-channel campaigns and business models make him an ideal candidate to lead our strategy team here,” said Brad Simms, VP and managing director of SapientNitro’s North America central region. Shostak joins SapientNitro from Young & Rubicam Canada, where he led the digital practice and developed digital strategies for brands such as Colgate-Palmolive, Ford Motor Company, LG, and Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. Before Y&R Canada, Shostak consulted on strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and business development for agencies, media conglomerates, and various start-ups and venture capital firms. He was previously executive vice president, managing director of interactive at Arnold Worldwide and vice president of marketing at ExtendMedia (a division of Cisco Systems), where he built the organization’s sales and marketing team and led multi-million dollar digital initiatives for clients in the telecoms, cable, and entertainment sectors.

 

Shostak began his career in digital media while he was still in college, working at one of North America’s first digital media research centers where he was involved in North America broadband trials and conducted research into digital rights management and distributed content applications.



A highly regarded guest speaker and industry thought leader, Shostak has contributed his expert commentary to publications including The New York Times, Strategy Magazine, Marketing Magazine, and many more.
