SapientNitro Hires David Thorpe as Vice President of Strategy and Analysis

 

MIAMI, APRIL 11, 2011SapientNitro, part of Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE), today announced that David Thorpe has joined as vice president of strategy and analysis. Based in Miami, Thorpe will be tasked with conceiving and applying innovative business strategies that transform SapientNitro’s clients.  He will be working alongside a group of multi-disciplined specialists led by global strategy lead Laura McFarlane.

Thorpe’s diverse career has spanned film, music, communications, technology, and government, united by the ability to assist organizations to respond to complex change in business environments. He joins SapientNitro from the Institute of State Effectiveness where he addressed the challenges and interplay of state, market, and civil society forces, particularly focusing on models of governance, security, and market-building.

 

Thorpe’s prior global agency experience includes tenures as senior partner, global head of innovation at Ogilvy & Mather and global lead, strategy and insights at Young & Rubicam where he worked exclusively with Microsoft as a client. He has also held senior positions at film, music, and publishing companies, including Condé Nast, The New Yorker, and PolyGram.

 

Thorpe serves on the advisory board of the Rockefeller Foundation’s New York City Cultural Innovation Fund. He is also a senior fellow at the Aspen Institute, where he previously taught a course on rebuilding fragile states.
