Sapient's Teresa Bozzelli Named 2011 Heroines in Technology Award Winner

Bozzelli recognized for her philanthropic leadership by AFCEA and March of Dimes

ARLINGTON, VA – October 26, 2011 — Sapient Government Services, a division of Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE) and a leading provider of consulting, technology, and marketing services to U.S. governmental agencies, is pleased to announce that Teresa Bozzelli, president of Sapient Government Services, was honored at the eleventh annual Heroines in Technology® Awards. Bestowed by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA)’s Northern Virginia Chapter and the March of Dimes, the annual award ceremony recognizes leading philanthropic women in the technology sector, from Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia, who demonstrate a deep commitment to community leadership and volunteerism.

“Teresa’s commitment to empowering others can be seen in her unwavering personal passion and inspirational leadership,” said Alan Wexler, senior vice president and head of Sapient’s North America operations. “I am thrilled to congratulate her on winning this prestigious award as recognition of her deep philanthropic commitment to the community.”

Bozzelli was recognized for her strategic and hands-on involvement with many organizations, including USO Honor Flights, The Children’s Inn at NIH, and No Greater Sacrifice. Under her leadership, Sapient Government Services has also established several long-term pro bono relationships with The Children’s Inn at NIH and No Greater Sacrifice, donating marketing, strategy and technology services. Bozzelli was also recognized for serving as the 2011 chair for The Children’s Inn at NIH charity gala, which set record levels of donations and attendance for the Inn’s largest annual fundraising event.

The Heroines in Technology finalists and winners were recognized at a black-tie gala held last Friday evening. The event supports local March of Dimes programs focused on reducing the occurrence of birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

“We had an exceptional list of finalists this year and would like to congratulate and applaud each and every one of them,” said Bridget Bean, event co-chair and district director, U.S. Small Business Administration. “All of our finalists find a way to balance demanding jobs in the technology sector with giving back to their communities and mentoring the next generation of technology leaders. We are proud to be able to celebrate these accomplished women, while raising money to support the local March of Dimes.”

Bozzelli was honored with an Individual Heroine Award.  A full list of all seven winners can be found at: www.prweb.com/releases/2011/10/prweb8895906.htm

This award represents one in a string of recognitions for Bozzelli. In June, Consulting Magazine named her a Top 25 Consultant of the Year for excellence in the public sector.
