King's College London Selects Sapient to Help Achieve “Connected Campus” Vision

London, October 14th, 2008 – Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE) today announced that King’s College London, one of the top 25 universities in the world, has appointed the global services firm to improve its online admission system, enabling greater interaction and transparency between the university and its students in 2008/09. By enhancing the user experience, Sapient will ensure King’s College London achieves its vision of a “Connected Campus” and help the university strengthen its world-class status. The project is the first for Sapient in the UK education sector but the firm will leverage its experience of similar projects at Ivy League colleges in the United States to meet King’s College London’s objectives.

The College’s three-year “Connected Campus” programme plays a key role in underpinning the university’s strategy to enhance quality and distinction in all areas of business activity, supported by excellent professional services and infrastructure. It envisages developing a state-of-the-art virtual campus for the College that connects people, knowledge, information and services. The virtual campus will enhance mobility, while supporting the College’s world-class researchers by enabling reliable 24-hour access and more opportunities for collaboration.

Integral to the “Connected Campus” programme is the application process. King’s College London has recognised the need to reduce manual process flow for tutors, administrators and internal staff, which can prove costly and time-consuming. In addition to reducing the risk of manual errors, applicants themselves benefit from increased real-time interaction with tutors and administrators at every step of the process. With greater efficiency and transparency, the new application process will enhance the user experience, ensuring Kings College London keeps its competitive edge.

Ruth Cawthorne, Business Project Manager at King’s College London, said: “Sapient understands our business objectives and presented an innovative approach to designing, implementing and delivering an online system within our desired timelines. Based on their track record and experience gained from doing similar projects in the United States, we have every confidence that Sapient will play a pivotal role in us becoming a truly “Connected Campus” by 2009. Sapient will ensure that we provide seamless ‘anytime anywhere’ access to a diverse range of resources, applications and services as well as improve research and teaching using the latest web technologies.”

Peter Ford, Vice President of Public Sector at Sapient, said: “The public sector continues to be a key focus for Sapient and we are delighted to add one of the leading universities in the world to our UK client portfolio.  We fully support King’s College London’s view that improving business processes only comes from putting users at the heart of the operation.  By helping enhance its online community with existing and prospective students, Sapient is fully committed to King’s College London’s ongoing success and to maintaining its leadership status in education.”
