Sapient Appoints Public Sector Veteran Teresa Bozzelli to Head its US Government Business
ARLINGTON, VA – April 6, 2010 —Sapient Government Services, a division of Sapient, today announced the appointment of former Booz Allen Hamilton executive Teresa Bozzelli to lead its US government business, effective immediately.
Bozzelli’s mission will be to expand the scale and scope of Sapient’s US Government Services business and to continue to position Sapient Government Services as a strategic partner to US government clients. By leveraging Sapient’s marketing, creative, and technology strengths, Bozzelli will bring increased value of services to the federal government at a time in which it seeks to transform itself and its relationship to citizens. Bozzelli replaces Cindi Marsden, who is moving on to pursue other opportunities.
“With Teresa’s appointment, we are well positioned to capitalize on the growth we’ve seen in the public sector, particularly in areas such as open and transparent government, health and safety, and the transformation of legacy processes and systems,” said Sapient President and Chief Executive Officer Alan Herrick. “We thank Cindi for her efforts at successfully growing the business during the past three years. Teresa is coming on at the right time to build on this positive momentum and take the Government Services business to the next level.”
“Teresa’s depth of expertise and breadth of relationships in the public sector are enhanced by her collaborative style and her ability to lead teams to accomplish great things,” said Alan Wexler, senior vice president and head of Sapient’s North America operations. “With all the innovation going on in the federal government, we see unlimited opportunities to grow our Government Services business and to strategically position ourselves as a prime vendor in the eyes of our clients.”
As a former chief operating officer at IDC Government Insights and vice president and partner at Booz Allen Hamilton, Bozzelli brings more than 20 years of experience as a thought leader and trusted IT advisor to clients across the US Government, including the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Interior, Department of Energy, National Aeronautic and Space Agency (NASA), Army Environmental Center, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Labor, Office of Management and Budget, Department of Treasury, and Department of Education.
Bozzelli founded Government Insights, an IDC company established to deliver research and advisory services for information technology trends and innovations specific to the public sector. She grew Government Insights to global growth and profitability within three years, and helped dozens of government agencies and public sector vendors to use strategic insights and information technology to improve mission delivery and operations. Prior to IDC, Bozzelli was a vice president and partner at Booz Allen Hamilton, where she orchestrated business development and government contracts delivery across more than 20 government organizations. Among her accomplishments was the design, development, and implementation of one of the first successful government-wide systems for improved citizen services. Bozzelli began her career with IBM, where she was responsible for software design on NASA’s Space Shuttle Support and Mission Control programs.
“I’m thrilled to join Sapient Government Services,” said Vice President Bozzelli. “I look forward to collaborating with the leaders of our Sapient Global Markets and SapientNitro divisions to leverage our credentials and experience on the commercial side with our public sector work. I’m eager to meet and work with our clients and discuss opportunities for bringing Sapient’s full suite of multi-channel marketing and technology services to bear in the federal government market.”
Bozzelli will be a member of Sapient’s North America leadership team, reporting to Alan Wexler. She works in the company’s Arlington, VA office.
