Sapient Teams with Watchfire to Expand Security and Compliance Testing Services

CAMBRIDGE AND WALTHAM, Mass. –May 3, 2006 – Sapient, (NASDAQ: SAPE) a business innovator, and Watchfire, the market-leading provider of website security and compliance software and services, today announced the two companies are working together to help ensure the security and compliance of clients’ web assets. Sapient is building on its track record for helping clients stay ahead of tomorrow’s most challenging issues by expanding its security and compliance services with Watchfire’s AppScan Enterprise and WebXM software.

A recent wave of online security and privacy breaches over the last few years has resulted in more rigid control regulations and industry guidelines. AppScan Enterprise is the industry’s first web application vulnerability scanning and reporting solution for the enterprise to deliver centralized control, remediation capabilities, executive security metrics and dashboards, and key regulatory compliance reporting. WebXM is the only automated Online Risk Management solution that audits quality, privacy, and compliance issues across corporate web properties.

“Compliance and security are top priorities for our clients. By combining Watchfire’s latest enterprise vulnerability scanning and automated risk management solutions with Sapient’s expertise in web solutions, we are bringing skill and simplicity to an increasingly complex issue,” said Ben Gaucherin, Sapient’s chief technology officer. “With partners such as Watchfire, we are creating a compelling proposition for organizations that recognize the importance of the online channel to their business and want to proactively address government and industry regulations.”

Certain industries, such as healthcare, financial services and the federal government, face heavier compliance demands as their security and privacy compliance practices have come under specific scrutiny. Sapient’s consultants are trained to deploy WebXM and AppScan Enterprise software, enabling the company to offer enhanced consulting services to help these clients stay up-to-date with the latest rules and standards to protect their businesses. To date, Sapient and Watchfire have partnered successfully on more than 10 enterprise deployments for large financial institutions and major government agencies.

“Sapient’s team brings a deep understanding of the client’s business processes, which make them a valuable extension to our own professional services team,” said Carey Stanton, vice president of business and corporate development for Watchfire. “As more information is collected and transferred through the Internet, it is imperative that a company’s web applications are protected. The threat of security vulnerabilities can have a dramatic affect on the confidence of users who interact with your corporate website. Sapient and Watchfire are committed to alleviating the compliance and security concerns of businesses and their end users, and allowing companies to utilize the web as a business enabler, not a liability.”
