This global focus makes my team's role in the company highly fulfilling.

Jane Owens oversees worldwide legal and commercial and regulatory affairs for Sapient. She also contributes to the Company’s overall strategy as a member of the company’s Leadership Team and serves as Secretary to Sapient’s Board of Directors. Owens’ areas of responsibility include contract negotiations, employment law matters, litigation management, and corporate and securities law compliance.

The Legal and Commercial Team that Owens manages is located in India, Europe and North America. It includes not only “in-house” lawyers, but also deal-focused finance people and an operations group based in India that handles worldwide contracts administration.

Owens was previously the general counsel and a member of the executive management team of The Dial Corporation, where she managed the company’s legal affairs in more than 40 countries. Prior to Dial, Owens was general counsel and a member of the executive management team of The Timberland Company.  She earned her law degree from Harvard University.
